Welcome to Terenure Enterprise Centre, a haven for those Starting in Business since 1984. Our art deco building was once the Classic Cinema in Terenure and now provides small business owners and entrepreneurs with professional incubation space at affordable prices and on flexible terms.
The Centre’s History
Since 1984, Terenure Enterprise Centre has provided practical, realistic support and training to all members in the community. Our art deco building, once the Classic Cinema in Terenure, is a haven for those starting in business by providing information, advice and business space. A strength for our organisation is its ability to understand and meet the needs of the local community.
The centre has 28 business incubation units, some of which are co-working environments which means that the Centre currently has 31 businesses based in our building and utilising the facilities. Many businesses employ local people, utilise international interns or offer work experience to students and transition years, therefore up to 60 people are working in the building on a daily basis. Terenure Enterprise Centre is a community organisation, a company limited by guarantee with a voluntary board of directors. The organisation enjoys a mix of skills and expertise at board level, all of which are utilised fully to shape and manage the vision, policies and operational practice at the enterprise centre. In the day to day running of the centre, eight experienced and motivated staff members provide a wide range of skills and expertise to ensure the needs of our customers are met when they make contact with Terenure Enterprise Centre.
Terenure Enterprise Centre holds a unique place both visibly and professionally in the community as the starting point for emerging business. Our objective is to continue to offer this ‘unique place’ for start up businesses, particularly those unemployed. A strength for TEC has been our ability to positively adapt to changes including our working relationships with state agencies and community groups providing enterprise supports to marginalised people.
